Executive and Administrative Staff

 

James Black, MA, LPC, DCC
Executive Director
Licensed Professional Counselor

James assumed the Executive Director position in June 2016 after serving as a counselor and Mission Advancement Associate at River of Hope. While the majority of James’ time is invested in leading River of Hope, he continues to provide counseling for pastors, missionaries, and their families at our Gingrichs Mennonite Church office and via telehealth counseling. James has a master’s degree in counseling with a concentration in marriage and family therapy.

 

Clinical Staff

 Dave Musser, LMFT
Founder & Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist

Dave founded River of Hope in 2012 and served as Executive Director until June of 2016. As a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist, Dave is now our primary clinician serving the Plain & Amish Communities with multi-generational, systemic therapy. Dave also supervises and teaches River of Hope interns ensuring that the next generation of counselors have experience working with complex relational systems.  Dave provides services though our partnership with Green Pasture and he provides services at our Gingrichs Mennonite Church and Weaverland Mennonite Church offices.

 

 Jennifer Hecker, LMFT
Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist

Jennifer joined our clinical team in 2017. She has extensive experience working in children’s ministry within the church context and a broad range of experience counseling clients struggling with an array of issues. She provides services at our Gingrichs Mennonite Church office.

 

Keturah Martin
Intern

Kitty was accepted into our internship program in 2017 and is on-track to graduate with a master’s degree in marriage and family therapy December of 2017. She is serving clients at our Gingrichs Mennonite Church office and is working with clients of all ages.

 

Sheri Miller, MAMFT
Marriage and Family Therapist

Sheri joined our clinical staff in 2016. She has extensive experience working with families affected by members with special needs as well as families and couples in crisis, conflict or transition. Sheri provides services at our Gingrichs Mennonite Church office and through our partnership with the Lebanon Free Clinic.

 

Michael Peachy, MAMFT
Marriage and Family Therapist

Michael joined our clinical staff in 2017 after working as an intern with Dave Musser serving the Plain and Amish Communities through our partnership with Green Pasture. Michael continues to serve clients at Green Pasture and he provides services to individuals, couples and families at our Gingrichs Mennonite Church office.

 

Beverly Swiadas, MA, LPC
Licensed Professional Counselor

Bev joined our clinical staff in 2017. She has over 20 years of counseling experience using a direct cognitive behavioral style. Bev also provides supervision for clinicians working toward state licensure as has worked with the University of California, Motivational Training Team and has held senior assessment positions involving the development of government programs that enhance employment, behavioral health, and juvenile probation systems. Bev is serving individuals at our Gingrichs Mennonite Church office.

 

Yaffa Brindle
Intern

Yaffa was accepted into our internship program in 2017 and is on-track to graduate with a master’s degree in marriage and family therapy December of 2017. She is serving clients at our Gingrichs Mennonite Church office and is working with clients of all ages.

 

Bethanie Stevenson
Intern

Beth was accepted into our internship program in 2016 and is on-track to graduate with a master’s degree in marriage and family therapy May of 2018. She is serving clients at our Gingrichs Mennonite Church office and is working with clients of all ages.
